Partnership with POHL FORCE
For the development of the HUGO ONE and HUGO TWO knives, SCHMEISSER has teamed up with Dietmar Pohl / Pohl Force GmbH.
Dietmar Pohl has been one of the world's leading knife designers for over 30 years, whose designs are just as convincing to professional users as they are to all civilian users.
His company Pohl Force GmbH, founded in 2007, stands for products that meet the highest standards in terms of design, material, production and quality while remaining affordable.
 
Steel
Time and again we hear about modern blades made of powder metallurgical "super steels", which then outdo each other in terms of sharpness, breaking strength and corrosion resistance.
In many cases this is a very clever marketing effect, but these knives have a very high price and are very difficult or impossible for the user to resharpen.
Schmeisser and Pohl Force live the philosophy of the American knifemaking legend Jimmy Lile, who saw D2 steel as the optimal steel for all areas of application, which can be easily resharpened by the user and guarantees an optimal price-performance ratio.
 
Surface finish
The stonewash finish of the HUGO ONE has increased resistance to scratches and signs of wear, which would be immediately noticeable on polished blades.
