The PELTONEN M95 Ranger Puukko presents Finnish knife art at its best.
This is the "big" brother of the PELTONEN M07 RANGER Puukko - equipped with a longer blade.
The inclusion of this knife in our JAGERBLUT range was preceded by a complete hunting season of testing. In our opinion, it is ideal for breaking open or intercepting game.
The lock bone can also be pried open with ease. The back of the blade is wide and the blade itself is sturdy enough to be used as a splitting tool by means of auxiliary tools such as a rubber mallet or a sturdy branch.

The blade
The blade of the M95 is 15cm long. It is extremely sharp, stays sharp for a long time, and is easy to resharpen when needed.
Normally, carbon steel is prone to corrosion and rusts easily if not properly cared for.
In the M95 Ranger Puukko, the properties of the carbon steel have been enhanced by various coatings.
The result is a tough but durable blade. The grind of the blade is very versatile and makes the M95 Ranger Puukko a tool that works in any situation.
Only very large pieces of wood should be left to an axe. This knife is best for splitting smaller pieces of wood.

Coating of the blade
The standard blade is coated with PTFE Teflon.
Teflon protects carbon steel from corrosion even in contact with salt water, for example.
It also reduces friction so that less dirt sticks to the blade.
The coating also meets food safety certification standards.
This feature is appreciated by all users who use their knives to handle edible materials such as game meat or fish.

The handle
The ergonomic handle of the M95 Ranger Puukko has been designed to maintain its functionality regardless of the climate zone.

TPV (thermoplastic vulcanizate) doesn't absorb moisture and is not susceptible to chemicals, let alone temperature fluctuations.

The sheath
One of the clear assets of the M95 Ranger Puukko is its innovative EasyLock sheath solution.
At JAGERBLUT we offer the PELTONEN RANGER M95 hunting knife with a composite / plastic sheath:
The EasyLock rubber wheel integrated into the sheath makes the knife captive in any carrying position - even upside down.
Nevertheless, it is immediately ready to hand by light thumb pressure on the sheath.
The plastic sheath from PELTONEN is also equally suitable for left-handers and right-handers.
The belt loop of the sheath, which has a Velcro closure, is compatible with MOLLE and PALS systems, which opens up many possibilities for carrying the knife.
You can wear the M95 Ranger Puukko on your belt, vest or the straps of a backpack.
This sheath variation also allows you to carry it horizontally or upside down.

History of development of RANGER PUUKKOs:
Peltonen Knives originated from the hands of Finnish military observer Juha-Pekka Peltonen.
The idea was born in the scorching heat of southern Lebanon and has since been adapted to the harsh conditions of Scandinavia.
While working as a military observer in Lebanon, JP Peltonen falls into the hands of an American military knife.
The weight, handling and balance of the knife are in a class of their own and leave a deep impression on Mr. Peltonen.

The idea from then on was to design a knife with similar characteristics, combined with Finnish knifemaking tradition, adapted to the conditions of the North.
The Ranger Puukko was designed with functionality in mind - as a tool for professionals and as a reliable companion for quality-conscious hunters and adventurers with the goal of functioning flawlessly in the Finnish wilderness, which is often quite ascetic.
