Knife handle:
To ensure that the knife lies comfortably in the hand even in cold and wet conditions, the shaft extending to the end of the handle is completely coated with TPE (thermoplastic elastomer).
The handle has a pleasant volume and a non-slip structure on the underside.

Not too thick, not too thin, suitable for cold, hot and wet conditions. A durable material that does not absorb moisture, non-slip in wet conditions, insensitive to chemicals and temperature fluctuations, almost unlimited dent and abrasion resistance in the event of impact,
comfortable to handle as no cold metal is exposed on the handle; ergonomic, wavy and neutral grip, comfortable for most hand sizes.
Thanks to its structure, grip and pleasant feel, the handle lies securely in the hand even with wet fingers. There are no "hot spots" when working, i.e. you don't get blisters on your fingers so quickly. The curved shape of the handle ends makes it easy and safe to prick and pull.
The handle is versatile and designed to retain its functionality under all circumstances. The tang is completely enclosed by the handle and extends to just before the eyelet for the webbing. The tang is not exposed anywhere so that the steel cannot freeze to the hand when working in very cold weather.

Development history of the RANGER PUUKKOs:
Peltonen Knives originates from the hands of Finnish military observer Juha-Pekka Peltonen.
The idea was born in the scorching heat of southern Lebanon and has since been adapted to the harsh conditions of Scandinavia.
While working as a military observer in Lebanon, JP Peltonen came across an American military knife.
The weight, handling and balance of the knife were in a class of their own and left a deep impression on Mr. Peltonen.

From then on, the idea was to design a knife with similar characteristics, combined with Finnish knifemaking tradition, adapted to the conditions of the North.
The Ranger Puukko was developed with functionality in mind - as a tool for professionals and as a reliable companion for quality-conscious hunters and adventurers with the aim of functioning flawlessly in the Finnish, often quite ascetic wilderness.

Today, the Peltonen Ranger Puukko is a professional tool with a NATO procurement code that enjoys great popularity beyond Finland's borders and meets even the strictest requirements of international special forces.
